In the last 24 hours, we’ve identified a loophole in our AppSumo code redemption process. This loophole has allowed accounts to redeem fake/duplicate/refunded codes inside our system.
We’ve since resolved the problem and we apologize for the mistake.
If you’re receiving this email then you either have a refunded, fake, or duplicate AppSumo code attached to your Frase account.
This is likely because you accidentally bought a fraudulent code on the secondary market from a reseller. Or you may have shared or resold your legitimate AppSumo code.
If you purchased a fraudulent code, we have some suggested courses of action:
Contact your reseller and ask for a refund
Consider submitting a Paypal dispute
Consider submitting a dispute with your bank or credit card company
It’s unfair to our legitimate AppSumo customers (those that purchased codes from AppSumo during the launches) that many people are using fraudulent codes to access Frase for free or close to free.
Because we share part of the responsibility, it would also be unfair for Frase to remove codes from legitimate victims of a scam without any alternative course of action.
So we’re offering you (and others in your position) an option:
We can delete your fake/duplicate/refunded code(s). If you have 2 codes and only 1 is a fake/duplicate/refunded then you’ll have 1 code left. If you have 1 code and it is a fake/duplicate/refunded then your account will become a free trial account (in this scenario, we won’t delete your account; you’ll still be able to access your existing documents, data, etc.)
Or you can add a 50% LTD for the SEO Add-on to your account, and you can keep everything. This offer is in an effort to give victims of scams a fair pathway towards keeping what they paid for. If you cancel the Add-on within 6 months you will lose your LTD. If you cancel after 6 months, you will retain the LTD.
