Basically the schools computers have Malwarebytes *good choice*
but i saw it was out of date by a couple of months

so i updated it and little did i know there was a system administrator watching the screen like teamviewer.
so he locked the computer and walked up to me and i got in trouble for updating the anti virus

Make a formal presentation to the school board, informing them that their System Administrator is incompetent and should be fired immediately. Those jackwagons make tons of money, huge benefits and sit on their ass all day doing nothing. They won't fire him, but they will always remember he's an incompetent ass. Updating the AV definitions is something everyone can understand.

I do IT. I run into these douchebags all the time. They don't know shit about computers, IT or anything, even if they have a degree all their collegiate information is obsolete now anyways. What they ARE good at is playing the smooth role of someone that knows something that you don't. Hucksters, bullshit scam artists, used car salesman and funeral directors, they prey on other people's need to believe that some people know a whole lot about something they don't know anything about. I'm constantly showing up after the 1st guy screwed over some trusting person, then come to find out for all his bullshit he actually didn't know a damn thing about anything, what he was good at was persuading people that he knew something.

Seriously. How do you go months without updating the AV definition files? He should have been too embarrassed to say a damn thing. The jackwagon. I bet he hasn't run Windows Update in forever either, which is actually more important than the AV definitions. Anti-Malwarebytes is just one of many acceptable AV softwares. There is no magic bullet. Malware is contracted by vectors and behaviors, and when the AV software finds it, the cows are already out of the barn. Close the vectors, restrict the behaviors and you woun't need AV software.

But, back to the jackwagon. Complete douchebag. I bet he's butt-buddies with someone in the district. That's the kind of job that having a tight cherry rectum can help you land and keep no matter how ignorant of a jackwagon they might be. You might ask that question in the public school board meeing, words to the effect that "Why is this incompetant jack-off getting paid to do nothing but be a jack-off by the tax payers. Is he getting ass-fucked in exchange for having this government job?". They'll probably throw you out, but for years afterwards anytime anyone sees the jackwagon, they'll wonder who he lets fuck him in order to keep his job.

It makes no sense for having troubles with the school for just helping updating the out-dated anti-virus software. :bsflag:

i envy your problems, wanna trade? :p

on a more serious note, sue the admin if you weren't informed that he watches, he could have seen sensitive information besides what you did with MB
America is the country where you can sue anybody for anything and you will eventually win

my all time favorite: a lady sued a microwave company, because there wasn't a label on the oven that you cannot put a cat to dry into it and she won lol, pure cat wasn't that lucky

You had no right to make changes to their system without permission.
Bad choice, ask first don't try and be clever.
No one likes a smart ass I know I'm one.

So does each individual work station have it's own AV or is there one for
    the whole network?
How did you have administrative permissions for the server?
If they are smart enough to be watching your online activity you
would think they would they know their security settings.

I remember when I was a kid in school, I once installed a plugin on Internet Explorer (back in 2001). We weren't meant to install anything. Later, the administrator asked to see me, and asked "what is this?". I told him "I don't know" and acted as if I had no idea what it was, saying "may be I downloaded it by accident without realising"...

Yeah, guess I was lucky to go to school at a time when they were introduced into schools. We even had a computer room in my primary school (a comprehensive school), but I went to primary school in the 90s. You must've gone to school before that period. The incident I mention was in secondary school, though, in 2001.
