I want one with of course the best efficiency but also with least resource use. I had been happy with pctools firewall/antiv until recently the antiv has been really bloated since an update and it seems to be taking 100% resources most of the day with scans. Also since I did a reinstall it wouldn't 'let' me reinstall the firewall saying something like 'ye dude the antiv offers enough protection so we are not going to let you install the firewall'...which is what probably what got me infected with the crappy malware. I was doing a bookmarking run with magic submitter and all of a sudden I get a crappy popup of 'windows xp antivirus 2011' faking an authentic xp popup and telling me to go by it. It wouldn't allow me to shut it down except finding the process in end processes and hijacked my web browser so I couldn't browse every time redirecting me telling me to buy the stupid product. So thankfully being (somewhat- tho not enough for it to not happen in 1st place ) prepared for such tomfoolery I had a fresh image ready to go which has me back on track within the hour. So I want to arm my pc sufficiently before doing any more runs as in this IM game you gotta stay strapped yo... Maybe I can stick with pctools for the firewall and get another antivirus though sometimes different ones don't like playing with one another. I had planned on running all my dubious programs in sandboxie but that soon ran afoul since magic submitter would crash and not run within the box. Having fresh images on hand really is a great convenience though it is better not to have tings get that far in the 1st place. Suggestions?
