So I've got what I believe to be a good idea and right now I'm stumped :ballchain. But I'm sure someone knows, I want to content lock a website/video but instead of them filling out a cpa they pay with PayPal to get what they want, any program or way of doing that?

If you are locking copyright content, you will have your paypal account limited pretty fast I think. But you just need to find a script for a popup ad, and then copy the "Pay Now" button from Paypal into it. Then just put "Pay now to unlock the content" above the pay now button.

I think paypal has a postback feature, which will also be needed to verify their payment. You definitely can't use a timer on that.

Unless the content is VERY precious, I would just use a redirect after the payment that takes them to a non-content locked version of the page. Of course people could just share the link free with others, but most people wont be that smart, and you can change the path every 2-3 days to avoid freeloaders. This would be easier then messing with postback I think.

Also, the chargebacks may be very high on it also. Its a good idea, but I think its very dangerous also.

Well, this is why most of us use CPA offers that people need to complete in order to unlock the content. This will help you avoid any chargebacks and you don't need to worry about your account getting disabled as long as you are really giving them content. Lots of networks have content lockers already, or you can buy a content locker in the Buy/Sell/Trade section.

Content locking is how I started out, and it really is probably the best way to make your first few dollars online. You can content lock anything really. One thing I used to do is content lock videos on YouTube. There are LOTS of websites with great streaming videos that you can embed legally on your site. Just gotta "hype it up" on your content locker popup.

    Example:
OMFG, This is 2 crazy! I just saw an extended sneak preview of this crazy Justin Bieber music video! Sorry, but I am not gonna let this be shared to everyone! If you really wanna see it, you gotta prove you are a real fan and complete an offer!

Then just type in Justin Bieber music video extended to youtube and choose one of those videos to embed. You aren't going to get amazing conversion ratio, but enough to start making your first few bucks online and not worry about any legal issues.

kickflip, that's some good advice but I have to say I just feel like I want to do bigger things than that. I'm not looking to make starter cash or anything like that, I have money. also i don't want to be working for someone (cpa), I want to start something big/important, where i can work for myself and I know money always follows. I guess being a college student i'm still looking to find my way. any tips/advice???

For me, its all about the baby steps. I can't give you advice on how to jump straight into the shark tank. If you consider yourself an "expert" at anything specific, you could start a blog or forum based on it. But those take a lot of dedication to take off and become successful. Lots of daily work writing articles/posts. Then you work for yourself, and you can monetize it in many different ways. Can't really help you our much beyond that.

Try to do what all inventors do: Find a problem , come up with a solution for it.

If you have the resources. you could create a wordpress site using the a plugin i found (will update on the name soon) that allows you to host content to be paid for and they get a download link. If you are interested in going that route i can provide more info as i was working on a similar project and have hit a roadblock.
