Okay so I have a site that's was ranked at #7 for it's keyword on Google for the last year or so. I've done some work on it and now it's at #2.

I have the opportunity to make a lot more money with it but it involves completely changing the content. I can't really go into specifics or else my whole niche will be screwed.

So.. Right now it's a Wordpress blog and I'm wondering if I completely wipe it out and switch with a regular html page will I lose my rankings? I'm guessing it will but keep in mind it's a year old and has tons of links.

If so, any ideas on "cloaking" it with my new content? I've heard of doing this before, but I can't really remember where.. basically like covering up the page but making sure google still sees the old content.. eh.. ??

    any help is appreciated..

If you change and chop you will lose rankings and Google will start all over.

Best thing is add content keeping the existing one. Start with adding pages and use the left sidebar to display the pages or something like that. I'm not too sure if changing posts to pages in Wordpress would constitute a redesign in Google's eyes but you could try that (do check it out though).
