Got a Question: Four Letters Domains

Damn, thats crazy. I think I overlooked s1ut, I think that if you can find the right buyer then that might can go pretty high, much higher than I was thinking. But still ya never know this domain trading and buying and selling is a weird business and its all about find that enduser that will pay a lot more instead of just reaching to the resellers.

prices are going to drop now that for 100k you can buy a "***.anyextensionhere"

so we will see reward.coke instead of reward.coke.com or something. it was in the news a couple months ago, no one picked it up here though

domains are only worth the amount of money they can sell for....

That still hasn't officially gone through yet. Will all of these tld's it will only make the strongs ones now even stronger. .com will never fall off the map. It's at the top and will always be at the top unless the internet gets reinnovated with something crazy.

err...actually about 90% of the internet population are not even aware of the .info domains...

it is only we domainers and non-casual surfers who are aware of these .infos.

Then what to say of the .cokes and .anythings.

A simple internet surfer will always type in .com which means .coms will rule for many more years to come. Besides getting the .anythings will cost like millions that can only be afforded by a handful of major corporates. The middle level people will still prefer .com over anything else.

oh absolutely. i am just saying that there will be in the next 5-7 years an influx of really short domains available. short is great because its the memorable and easy to type in directly.

com is going to remain king but its going to spread out more and more. if you build a good site and have a decent domain name you wont need a 4 letter domain unless its like your stock ticker symbol or soemthing

either way 4 character .coms are not being made anymore.

ya...i understand...the younger generation might really catch on to the .short tlds. But as for the present generation i doubt anything but .com is going to rule. even a short .a is gonna have a tough time.

hell...you tell them to type coke.a and most of them would end up putting in coke.a.com :D

and im sure there are going to be a zillion rules about owning of new tlds.....we ll just hafta wait n see!!!
