    got new one
    C2duo 2.93 Ghz
    Gigabyte processor G-31
    2 GB DDR RAM

What else you think can make performance more better.. I bought a custom one and my vendor said I series of processors from Intel are total fail and Cor2duo is the best right now in the market.. I asked him abt quad core but he said it also no good.

    whats your say or experience?

yeah gotta 22" LG LED too its sexy ;)

    How much did you pay?

Sounds like you got ripped off mate. G31 is nearly 3 years old. Wouldn't call it very new.

Plus your e7500 cpu only has a 3mb l2 cache which isn't amazing anyway.

Saying that the i3-7 series is crap is a total load of shit. The i series keeps a similar design to the core 2 platform but adds different components to the actual cpu to reduce latency and you also get rid of the bios.

But yea that system would be good in 2008. Of course its fine for IM stuff but wouldn't call it state of the art. Frankly you could of got a q8200 or q9300 or something like that which was a nice quad core cpu back in 2009.

    Just my 2¢ :)

You have only 2Gb Ram thats not really much.
    I have running a Q9650 4x3Ghz 12MB Cache, thats a really powerfull CPU
4x2 GB 1066 DDRII RAM on Asus P5Q Pro Deluxe Mainboard
    POV GTX 285 Grafic
    all with Watercooling ;)
But the best performance is my SSD 90GB OCZ Vertex2 :D

But if you`ll buy a SSD you must install WIN7 because the Trim Function doesent work on XP or Vista.

2 GB RAM would be weak if you run Vista or Win7, you'll definitely need more, but other than that, your config seems to be enough for usual IM stuff

and i also don't think, Intel i series is a total fail, half a year ago i bought a new Sony lappy with the smallest i series, i3 2 Ghz processor, 4 GB RAM, Win7 and it works extremely well, go and figure how i5 and i7 performs...

oh no is it? it was my known vendor and we have family terms he said I 3 CPU got so many problems and I 5 also he said he used to sale some I series processors also I got the same suggestions from one of my friend which is in computer hardware biz he said i series is no good so he said me to wait..

I'm feeling pretty bad now :( if I did mistake..

btw anyone here who used both C2duo and with i series can suggest me any good?

btw C2Duo 2.93 Ggz is a latest CUP as it was told by vendor.. I'm not sure abt Gigabyte G-31.. I have spend 176$ for both of these components.

Matsta is right. This config was good like 2-3 years back but not anymore. i series is much better than core2duo. Your vendor must have sold you this because he might not be able to get the i series or just wanted to get rid of the old config PCs.

I have a 4GB DDR3 RAM in my laptop, 2.4Ghz and an 1TB total space. I would recommend you talk to your vendor ask him to replace it with a new PC.

Your vendor is Right. 2.93 Ghz is the highest in C2D series right now but not in Intel series!! :)

It might be the reason core2 duo is expensive than i3. I checked the rates today

no one will exchange things after breaking the seal and who will buy it?

also I don't think it is 2-3 year back thing as c2d 2.93 were not launched 2-3 Y back it is a latest thing..

and there is no point that vendor can't get that series as he sold i 3 and i5 pc's and got several complains and they are way expensive than c2d so I don't think he tried to trick me but I just wanted to confirm the difference if i series is fail or not?

any real user can comment on both? please no laptop users but guys using both c2d and i series plz comment.

I don't know about other stuffs but G31 is definitely not a new board. I bought G31 board one and half year ago.

BTW, I love G41 board it is fantastic.

and yeah its 64-bit don't u get problem working with many 32-bit supported software? I don't think 64 bit is a good choice..

I have a old Quad core Q6600 with 4GB DDR 3 ram ( 3GB usuable), but it is not performing so good and considering a new I7 with 64bit win. so i can make use of max RAM

My current config is straining when i spin a article into 500 variations. I have a newer Duo core at work and it is outperforming this old Quad.

Now i am just waiting for Santa to come around

Your Pc obv. isn't 2years old but it was good 2years AGO not now! i3 and most of the i5 are dual core CPU's that why there isn't much improvment! the i7 however are beasts.

How much you paid for your setup?
