Initially, it treated my sites, and those of my clients, like a rented mule. Stuff went down to places so dark in the search engines that you would need to have a miner's helmet on to be able to find them.
Slowly things have been coming back and today was a nice surprise to see when I checked a couple of sites.
The first site in the image is brand new and we just started working on it and the other two have been in our fold for a bunch of months:
The difference in ranking is huge compared to what it was just a few weeks ago when Google decided to alter the landscape.
If you are building quality backlinks and have quality content on your site, G may come along and put you in the corner but in all reality, nobody puts baby in the corner if you do things right.
If your sites got hosed from the recent updates, keep adding quality on and off site and I would bet they come back.
