So I was at #11 just a bit ago on Google for my targeted search term...I updated my site (just changed content, no new pages or links), and now Google has indexed a completely different page on my site which dropped me to page #7. The content I changed was literally 3 or 4 words to make it, if anything, MORE relevant.
Any idea what is going on here? It may be Googledancing...Time will tell.

It never ceases to amaze me when people are confused when their site doesnt have a consistent steady increase to #1 in the SERPs. Rankings fluctuate on a continual basis. That's just the nature of the game.

Hey i never said that i expected my site to have a steady increase in serps to the top...just that i found it odd the way Google indexed it on the last spider.

I think google indexed my site more strangely than yours, i search my main keywords' ranking everyday since last week because it has dropped to page 8 from page 1, and each time i check (once a day), google indexed different page of my site for the main keywords, everyday, each time there is a different page ranking for the main keywords, that's ridiculous, those pages even don't have main keywords in them, and are not optimized for main keywords.

Yeah, that's about what's happening to me. Google actually indexed the main page of my domain at one time, but now they don't have that one indexed, but they DO have a sitemap indexed, which it not at all optimized for keywords.
I hope this is just a google dance and it will come back stronger. My domain is only a week old, though, so I can't expect to be able to pull very high ratings.
