Traffic to Google+ has grown by 66 percent worldwide since November, and is up 82 percent in the US in the same time period according to ComScore. It seems that the traffic doeskin reflect a specific usage of the service. Google doesn't discuss true usage numbers for Google+, instead they are focusing on counting how many people have ?upgraded? to Google+ accounts and discussing how many of these account holders use all of Google?s services.

So what is the future of Google+?
In my opinion it would grow more and attract more traffic.

This sort of reminds me when Orkut was "big" overseas (i.e. South America). There's a risk that Google+ could turn into a social network that is popular in every country except U.S.

Google is forcing every user of their other services to join Google +. For example they recently merged google places to google + to enforce all the google places owners and reviewers to join Google + in order to use these services.

Although in no way it is compatible or even able to compete with facebook in terms of usage but google is trying hard to get succeed in social networking.
