Google Will Soon Ignore Links You Tell It To

Great way to test if a certain link is valuable or not. In addition it could save your from negative seo.
Good thing in my opinion.

You have any more reliable source?
Webpronews doesnt count. :-)

any official press release from google? because such a tool can prevent negative seo to a great extent

So people freak out about using WMT - which only shows you the info google already has about your site. But then get excited about a tool that you use to supply google info about what you've been doing wrong?

How is that a good thing?

If your site was already slapped back to the dark ages then it can't really do any harm to tell it to ignore/discount any links you think are bad for you.

If these links are not counted anymore you might be able to salvage your site.

doesn't have to be something you've done wrong. i think this tool is being introduced in light of all the negative SEO concerns.

not gonna happen, at least if google still has a last piece of mind. I can just blast millions of links to competitor site and keep him busy for years just deleting these links from their account.

OK then - call me a conspiracy theorist then.

I won't be touching this tool with a 10 foot pole.

Such a tool is silly for one simple reason:

Xrumer creates links faster than you can delete them.

What kind of argument is that? I really don't understand what you're saying. If Google doesn't do it they suck because anyone can blast your site. If Google does do it they suck because anyone can blast your site. I'd love to hear your solution, rather than your whining.

They shouldn't do it at all. But the majority of people don't think ahead and will probably tell them it's a great idea and proceed to feed them a database of "bad" links. I'm amazed that people have given Google so much power and are willing to give them even more. Nothing good comes out if this big brother stuff for anyone except Google. And believe me, it's big brother stuff.

The solution is to stop using their tools and stop giving yourself away for nothing. There needs to be a big initiative to move people from WMT and Analytics. I don't think people get the scope of the privacy issues at hand. These tools don't exist to help webmasters, they exist to track visitors even when they're not using Google.

So they're either admitting negative SEO is possible or they're just bluffing to get webmasters to do some work for them. Either way, they seem to know that fearful people tend to make awful decisions.

Count me in. Now how can we do this? Most people will tell more things to Google than to their own mother, pope or themselves. As long as we feed Google we are playing the losing game.
1 of 100 000 surfers is IM. 1 of 1000 IMs is concerned about privacy. What we can do?

With or without it they made a big mistake, they made neg seo too easy for the masses and now they are trying to fix it quickly...they are already receiving huge number of complaints.

If you don't like g$$gle analytics then move to piwik.

I don't think it's that bad of an idea . This way if you get a freelancer that accidentally sandbox's your site you get get it re-indexed into google.

Why couldn't you just scrape all of those links and submit them altogether. I don't think It would be that hard to get all those BS links and get them off your site . Would It ?
