    Good Morning,

I have a friend that has a really well custom built clothing website. The site has been up for over 8 months now. It is indexed in Yahoo and Bing, but we cannot get Google to index it. We have tried everything! I have a couple of programs that when run can index a site usually within hours. I have even been able to index sites that were 1 day old with zero content, but for some reason NOTHING seems to be working. Is there any reason why Google would decide not to index a site? Is there anything I can try to get it indexed?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Very strange, I couldnt think of a reason why google would not index your site, except its banned. We'll see what others say..

Hi Chris, is it a new domain name ? If not, maybe this domain has been spamming too much before.
Or maybe a "bad neighboorhood" thema ?
Did you send a sitemap via webmaster tools etc ?
I guess there is no reason for GG to not index a site !

sounds like either sandbox or a technical problem.

If it's a wordpress blog you can check to make sure the site is set to be crawled.

you might also want to make sure the sitemap is updated and in place.

If you built a lot of links fast, it could be sandboxed though. If that's the case, you just have to wait it out.

The site was indexed pretty quickly by yahoo and bing. The site is 8 months old. Never done anything crazy. Sitemap has been submitted. It is not a wordpress blog...

    At a loss...

    Never had this issue before...

What tools did you run to try to get indexed?

Does it come up as "banned" when you try to type it into Google?

Can you give us the link, or PM it to me so I can take a look?

Many other factors could also be involved-- what's it made of? Does it have any "bad neighborhood" links?

I had a client once whose site was completed sandboxed because of old Flash code that was throwing errors. We fixed it and submitted it to Google Webmaster Central and they lifted the ban within 24 hours. If you're going to contact Google, though, you have to make absolutely sure you did everything on the "up and up" the whole way through, do you know what I mean?

Some kind of robots.txt that prevent google bot to slurp it ?

If you're website has been really hit by spam it may be sandboxed also (unless you rank on "viagra" and "cialis" with that great free content from spammers in your guest book!)

Sorry dude, don't know what to tell you. Keep resubmitting your site map and such and adding new content. If that fails then strive to contact a real person at Google I guess.
