    Hi all

I just want to post here to warn anyone who didnt already know and also to vent a little as im freakin raging
I bought a domain from expired domains about 6 weeks ago. I sat on it till last week (13th Dec) when I got round to putting content on it. I am in the adult niche btw. I put a 1100 word post on then realised that the previous owner was still active as links were coming in that I had nothing to do with. I then realised on sunday that the previous owner was still active and linking to this site via his twitter. I didnt want to post on his open twitter that I was putting adult content on this site incase all his followers (about 3500) rushed to see it. I tried and tried to get him to follow me so we could discuss in private and either offer to sell it back to him for what I paid or to say to him to take his links off but I got the feeling he is a bit of a drama queen and liked it to be kept in the open. After about 45mins of me telling him I would tell him in private,he blocked me! "Well f*** you then" I thought and left it at that. Then today I find he has put a huge rant on facebook about his site now hosting adult porn. He says he has been dealing with domains by proxy and Google(although why he thinks its anything to do with google is beyond me) to sort it. I contacted godaddy to see where I stood as from his fb rant,he still wants this domain and isnt happy. They basically said he is up a gumtree as he allowed it to expire. He had plenty of time to renew it and didnt so they said the domain is mine fair and square and I can put whatever I want on it as long as its legal. Great I thought. Now we come to the main point of this thread. The site was ranking halfway up page 2 yesterday. Today, after he has contacted google, the site is nowhere to be seen. It is still indexed but not in the results. Now this might be coincidense. We all know how much google likes to take sites away for no reason but Im furious that someone can complain about what is on a site they USED TO OWN BUT NOT ANYMORE and it gets taken away.

So if you didn't already know,be wary about buying expired domains. If the PO is a moron who didnt renew then contacts google to complain, you may lose your site.

I doubt that google paid attention to some webmasters rant and took action. What might have happened is he may have submitted something saying the domain was "hacked" or pushed to another owner without authorization. There should be a way to submit a reconsideration request if indeed it was deindexed so you can explain your situation.

Also, it could have been google dance since the domain did drop and then there was different content added to it. Try to find out if it was indeed deindexed or wait a few weeks and check SERPS.

Im not sure exactly what happened. Just seemed very iffy that it was there before he complained about it. He's not even a webmaster, just some guy who had a site. A strong site. Its not been deindexed, just pulled from rankings so you may be right. Just the old google dance!

The guy sounds like a dick.
Make him a one time offer to buy the site back (with a decent profit for you) if he doesn't want to deal then forget about him.

As for the ranking being affected, I doubt the guy had anything to do with it (unless he tried some neg SEO).

I am a little confused as you said you only started putting content on it on the 13th (4 days ago) so it will probably jump around for a bit anyway.
The fact it was a Non Adult Site before may have some bearing, how many links are pointing to the site and where from?
    Do you use GWT?

Yes I was going to give him one chance. Had he dealt with me on Sunday,I would have offered him it at cost price to me. But now after his melodramatics,I want profit!

It is a PR3 with a very strong DA and PA because of whats linking into it. Very powerful links.
I dont use GWT for it. I put two sites out on the same day and the other one is still ranking though.
I don't think he used neg seo. He is not a webmaster as such.

He is very much under the impression that it is Google that has messed up with his domain name. He says they have dropped the ball and he has been in contact all day to them

He thinks he is a bit of a celebrity!

    IMO, completely unrelated.

There are so many penalized sites out there. People think its panda, or penguin, or some other update, or a manual penalty from Google, or in this case that Google took action based on what some guy said on Facebook.

    Nope.

You're most likely keyword stuffing. You probably got your main keyword in title twice, 2 or 3 H-tags, body density of 5%. If thats not the case I'd be highly surprised. You can get nearly any website out of penalty by going on an underoptimization spree.

What tipped me off is that you can find it in quotes but no other way. It means you're stuffing keywords.

I can assure you i'm not stuffing keywords. Far from it.

I use yoast plugin for posts. Every one is spot on.

Its not what some guy said on facebook. I dont think that at all. Its that he POSTED on facebook saying he has been in contact with google on and off all day.
Im just p***ed off at the way he is going about this. Anyone with half a brain would have figured out by now that I was the one trying to speak to him on Sunday to do the decent thing but he STILL insists on keeping everything public on his twitter.

If you really want to wind the guy up, then use wayback machine, scrape all his old content and post it back on your site.

He should have originally done that when he realized the previous owner was still building backlinks.

Lol may do that! He is really p***ing me off with his moaning about it as if he didnt get the 3 months of warning the domain was expiring. He is making out almost as if ive hacked his site with my "filth".
He is lucky though. My stuff is tame compared to what other adult webmasters could have put on it!

here is what it looks like:
the dude had a WBT account for the domain and that account was still active. He simply issued a remove URL request to Google through WBT. It is now up to you to either prove the account is yours and that the previous owned acted illegally and in violation of Googles TOS, or to wait the 90 days for the URL's to expire in the removal request.

I myself would work extra hard to have the account blacklisted for every violation of every search engines TOS, and for every thing imaginable from child porn to passing malware. After words, I would eat the loss (what $10), and give the site to the guy.

Barring this, you need to set up a WBT account for the domain and add the headers (meta tags) so that such cannot be done again.
