Just curious if Google wave is similar to Facebook and if so, how we could monetize it.

    Thanks all...

Facebook, Myspace, and other sites are just for socializing, too.

I'm wondering the same thing... how can we monetize GWave? You've monetized everything else on the Internet, right?

What about a cloak affiliate link in a thread that provides some hot news story or trend and then you share it with the world? People who see the thread will join and comment and may even click the link. It's like Digg in a way but it's email so you can include anything you want.

    Thoughts?

You can definely harvest a log of user names since each id is a their actual gmail address. But using the service is so browser intensive and buggy it really isn't worth it. I have some invites for anyone who can tell me how to send you the invite without revealing my email address. No offense, but this is my real spam free address.

I tried inviting my BH alter ego email from my WH main wave account - works fine except that I can't seem to invite new people from my BH wave account.

Scary stuff trying to sneak in BH stuff in Wavelets being hosted by big G themselves.

Maybe some viral social media Wavelet with a few very prominent social bookmarking buttons is the way to go.

Or perhaps some kind of downline / refer-a-friend type of Wavelet.

Or a chain-letter bot with some auto social bookmarking.

If anyone has spent time on wave you soon realize that half of the people on their have some seo marketing type angle and its not really that fun or interesting. That said, I have some invites from my spammy accounts if anyone s interested. I can send those no problem.
