Google wants to rank webpages based on their truthfulness

I suspected something like this because their recent acquisitions are companies that have done a lot of research into algorithms that can be used for precisely these types of shenanigans.

I won't say much about it. But it seems like they are looking to prevent people from finding out news sources from non western biased media companies.

One of my sites is a "near conspiracy theory" type of website with an eastern biased on it, so its probably going to get hit hard from google searches. I'll probably have to start focusing on branding and social media more than seo now.

Interesting article, I suspected something like this to happen. It seems that 2015 will bring many new algorithm changes in G.

So a person who writes a blog post to spark a debate or challenge conventional thinking will be forced down the rankings? I see where this is going.
