    Hi,

I started linkbuilding and more seo on a keyword with 6100 exact local searches a month. It showed up in Yahoo 1 week ago and has now #20 position. In google.... not even in the top 100.

Is there an expert over here our someone who has an explenation for this, i do not understand why it show up in Yahoo and not in Google.

    Best Regards

Simply put, they're different search engines.

Yahoo (and Bing, as they serve out the same search results) have a different algorithm to how they rank websites. They still take backlinks very seriously, and are less judgmental than Google about what the quality of the backlinks are. Google still looks at backlinks, however they've shifted towards more of a content based ranking, and constantly trying to figure out new ways to prevent abuse in their search results.

I'd continue building links regularly, and lean towards more "good neighborhood" links (no porn, or any of that jazz), and constantly adding new unique content to your website if you want to rank better in Google.

Also, if you have yet to register your website with Google Webmaster Tools, and Analytics, now would be a good time to just do it. This will allow you to submit your sitemap into Google, more pages to be indexed, and your reputation to grow (and with reputation, comes rank.)
