    From The Link Auditors

    Hi ,

    Link Networks Taken Down

As you probably know Google took action against the oldest and most secretive link network over the weekend, they also took action against some smaller players too (ghost 2.0), who simply resold SAPE links (the link network which has been repeatedly suffering hits since March when they were first hit), but what else did Google do in their war on SPAM?

They changed the rules and made everything much harder that's what, not only did they take down this network, they also did an update to the SERPs most likely hitting bad neighborhood links and they also tried to block all scraping tools from working!

Scraping Google is a huge part of how all SEO tools work and to scrape Google reliably is not only against Google's terms of service but, now its been made extra hard, over the last week they changed the output of the codes so it gives different results for the same queries (some are url encoded with a weird mix of rules) and they implemented harsher blocks on proxies, also now they give all sorts of different codes when they block and sometimes they give us nothing, Anyone would think Google were putting up a concerted effort to block SEO companies from scraping them... Well its OK Were scraping again for the time being.

Well that's not all, Google also blocked all referral data weekend, this has been on the decline for some time now but with companies in the dark as to how their Google traffic arrives they will have to rely on Google webmastertools which has its own risks and for those who are paranoid, by chance if you have one domain penalized for some reason, likely hood is that if you have more than one domain using the same Google webmastertools account they will also investigate and penalize that other domain too, so if you want some referral data and don't want to increase your risks of penalties across other domains USE separate webmastertools accounts.

Talking about making it harder, we have one tool called our IndexTrust tool, this is a unique tool (like all our tools) which is one of our oldest tools and was built years ago, though unfortunately this tool will soon be broken and there's nothing I can do to fix it. It relies on data from one source that is about to stop working in November. In November Google will expire an API which is used for programing JavaScript tools and years ago I discovered it was given me a very interesting metric, that metric was the site index unlike the site command in basic Google search results. This API's data of that metric was special, it is the REAL metric which is not an estimation as seen on standard Google.com and takes into consideration actions they have taken against sites. So if a site has been penalized for poor content (Panda issues) most specifically pages they produced that were selling links say like a link directory, or article directory using this tool and comparing that with the site in question we can see how many pages have been SECRETLY de-indexed while the site appears to be OK in Google. Well thats the secret source of our Index Trust Tool and in November that tool will no longer work.

If you haven't already tried using that tool I would highly recommend using it before it expires and looking at the dirt it finds on your own back links. Especially now with all the recent changes.
To see that tool in action and many others like it you can start a project free on www.linkaudit.co.uk now and start cleaning your own site from all the years of historical linking practices you have been doing before it all starts to catch up with you if it hasn't already.

So what else did they do? they have blocked the big networks, they have blocked scraping, they have blocked referral data, my god whats left? It's true today is one of the hardest days its ever been for an SEO engineer and most of those people who used to 'do a little bit of SEO' have been well and truly taken out of the equation and are now doing proper day jobs. Only those who have an extremely good handle of whats going on and how to work out what Google are doing are surviving in this climate.

If you have seen any recent changes in your SERPs you will be well advised to reexamine your back link profile for signs of problems, DE-indexed domains, issues with low trust domains and over optimization of anchor texts are the obvious issues in this environment at the moment.

One could just copy-paste that article every 2 years to let the crowd feel that something has changed.
Then he can safely get back to keyword stuffing and Scrapebox blasts.

What are you talking about? I am scraping google 24/7 without any problems. I make new fresh lists and bast the hell out of them. My sites are ranking good not seen any bad changes till now. I don't know where have you "scraped" the above statement as Google didn't announce anything and I didn't find any source to reveal at least a part of what you wrote above.

Yup agree with this, I have heard nothing anywhere about any changes. My scrapes still work fine too. Google has always presented different results depending on searches. It does its queries in real time and if you are logged in that makes a difference to. Nothing I see to be alarmed about here.

Its pretty much bollocks, posted it with the view of helping members as I got it in an email. Scrape Google myself with no problems. My view is Google are indeed fighting a losing battle even there crap attempt at the disavow tool which I believe is there way of amassing a database of spam links so they can de-index sites for spamming etc, but the truth is there wasting there time as many a member here knows.

No sooner they launch an update, another solution is found on BHW, thats why this is THE BEST forum hands down.

As for Matt C*nts "dont call me my dear I`ll call you" - back to the drawing board lol

As for this article, maybe someone who thinks out the box can spin that and make a WSO out of it selling there own tool ;)

I agree an article this big loses interest after a while, especially with the blocks and blocks of text, but I have to comment on the part about The Link Auditors. My friend actually had suffered from a Google Penalty, which resulted in his website falling in the SERPs. It was due to the nasty, spammy backlinks in his site. He went to Link Auditors after hearing about them on another forum, though sceptical at first, his fears were put to bed very fast! He says that they were really good with dealing with it all, and took him through each tool that he needed to run and they explained everything.

As for the penalty, he filed for reconsideration, and he got it straight away. So based on his experience, I'd say The Link Auditors are pretty fly at what they do!

Why do people tend to forget that Google algorithm changes are written by programmers. Google can never win such battle unless they employ the whole programmers in the world. If you know about programming you can easily understand what I mean. Just like mathematics, if someone changes a mathematical fomular, any mathematician can still easily write another formular to solve an equation. Google does not own the internet!! They only operate their business on numerous networks of cable data exchange. SEO can never die and even Google engineers knows that. So just focus on your business and stop scaring soft minded folks.

Nanavlad you are spot on, thats my beleive too. Slowly turn there search engine into pay to list your site. Its noticeable that G Analytic s has had a makeover, wonder if that's the next "charge to use"

I said many times - you can't blame the seller of a service that is changing the rules of his own game. Is a free market - they just take advantage of their dominant position. All is having an end, with these kind of actions they're just redirecting the traffic to the other 2 important searching engines (Bing and Yahoo) so lets see what will happen in the future
