    So ..

I was doing some research using Google's keyword tool and came up with a search term that it says has 3.8B Global and 338M Local Monthly Searches.

When I run it through the traffic estimator it is only estimating 2 clicks per day. This seems quite wrong.
I've a site with 2500 global monthly searches that pulls more than that.

I'm thinking maybe it can't estimate correctly since it's possible nobody has targeted this keyword phrase in the past.

    Anyone have any input?

    I'd reaaaalllyyy appreciate it.

have u tested it against a broad phrase or exact / phrase match? moreover, their estimation is based on the average CPC and budget you set. Besides, I wouldn't trust this estimator anyhow if I were you. Good practice is just going for it, and view your stats on live advertising.

I've tested the phrase both ways. It comes up with no traffic. Logic tells me that if there's 338 million monthly, even if I get only 0.10% of the traffic I should have plenty more than 1-2 clicks per day. Just paranoid because I'm dumping all of my time into this site and long story short, time is something I cannot waste right now. If this site doesn't go as I hope, I'm kinda screwed (personal reasons.)

    I'm not too worried though.
It does make me wonder exactly how Google estimates the traffic though and after seeing that, I've no faith in that tool.

    Thanks for your reply.

get estimates on expected traffic, costs per click and spend data for your AdWords. It is a great time saver
