I hate google now
Almost everyone does so.
web2.0 and profile backlink ?
These are only good for diversity.
Hard to index.
guest post
Quality backlinks is what you need today.
Beware most of these advertised guest posts are just link farms.
Check the website prior to purchasing link.
PBN links are also good if they aren't link farms.

One key factor to filter out link farms is the OBL count.
Rest website history from wayback & it's backlinks & anchors can help you to filter these.

google have been devaluing web 2.0 and profile links for several years now.

You could probably still get some results with web 2.0s, but you'll have to grow and nurture them like they're your money sites, but if you're going to do that you might as well build your own PBN cause at least you have control over it :)

Like @MKSKS said, web 2.0s and profile links (and all other useless types of links for that matter, such as article directories, wikis, bookmarks, blog comments, forum profiles, etc) are only good for diversifying your backlinks profile and nothing else.

guest posts still work (and work awesomely) IF you get quality ones. If you get guest posts on link farms you'll probably not see good results with them, but if you focus on quality (which is expensive, it's true) you're going to see good results in rankings, but you need to give those guest posts time to grow and acquire authority. In the beginning they're not worth much (which is why a lot of people just go for niche edits from the beginning).

Anyway, welcome to the "hating on google" train :)

Did you build tiered links to the web2.0? Web2.0 on subdomain is treated as a brand new website. No post on any brand new website without referring domains will help you.

Web 2.0 and profile backlink will help you diversify your website's link profile.

But if you want to rank website for any targeted keyword, guest post will play a big role for you.

I don’t know your niche. 8 guest posts may not enough to rank.

Web 2.0 and social profiles are still very useful for reputation management (ie when someone searches for your client's brand), but the old OMG-style EMD social profile method isn't as effective as it used to be.

Web 2.0 & profile links won't help much. You can use it for diversity. Ranking depends on your On page and the keyword competition. Instead you can add more unique contents, add more high quality pbn links, guest posts, niche edits etc. for better rankings. Target long tail keywords which are easy to rank.

Profile links are almost dead. Web 2.0 still has some value.

Link quality is more important than link quantity.

What is competition. i have recently ranked one of my client local business site just with web 2.0, profile links and pbn links and not only ranking it's on #1 for primary keyword

so Google will like only guest post links?
then how backlink profile diversity helps?

Definitely not. Google likes all types of quality backlinks, not just guest posts.

The backlinks on profile pages are difficult to index. It takes too long and sometimes it doesn't even get indexed by Google. So, For backlink diversity, you can build these types of links.

My recommendation is not to use these profile backlinks for money sites. These links are suitable for Tier 2 and Tier 3.

I never link these type links for tier 1. I only use it for tier2 and blast gsa backlink for best result.
