Around a week ago my website was ranking around 25 for a paticular keyword and all long tailed keywords associated with it. Ever since I undid a disavow from a domain, its disappeared from Google Search for the main keyword but I now rank 3-4 for all long tailed keywords. The backlink from the disavowed domain was only to the website homepage.

SERP Robot also can't find my website ranking in the top 100 for the main keyword either.

Does anyone know why?

When you undid that disavow, Google might’ve reassessed the backlink, seeing it as harmful or irrelevant. That could hurt your main keyword ranking but leave the long-tail keywords unaffected.

Try re-disavowing the domain or wait a bit.

When I un-disavowed it, my long tailed keywords went from ranking 25 to 3-5 and all our other keywords on the site were boosted too. Our average position went from mid 40s to mid 20s.

Yep, so I think the backlink you un-disavowed wasn’t necessarily harmful, but more neutral or even slightly beneficial. Now, you can try to optimize the main keyword by strengthening internal links, updating meta tags etc, and see if the rank changes.

It looks like your site has experienced a significant change in rankings, which can happen for a number of reasons. Since your rankings for long-tail keywords are still high, this may be a temporary problem. Keep a close eye on your rankings over the next few weeks and continue to optimize your site for both your primary keyword and related terms. If the problem persists,
It could be due to a number of reasons such as Algorithm Updates, Keyword Competition, Indexing Issues .... The rest is for you to determine the cause and fix it

This kind of issue will happen when you disavow the links. It's nice you are seeing positive rankings after un-disavowing the link. You can focus on creating more strong links from the legit sites.
