Hey, so I run a sports news site, and I do recaps and what not. I have 2 things happening.

    1) In google search, if i do a "Team A vs Team B Recap" keyword search, google isnt linking to the actual page article ,its linking to the page before that, which as a list of all the games for that given day.

    2) Also, some times if i were to do a "Team A vs Team B Recap" Search, sometimes it links to a game from last week which may have had Team A vs Team C.

Is there anything I can do about this or is this just the way google works?

try putting actual score or date in your query.

    Ravashjalil,

I'm confused, are you saying that the indexed URL in a Google SERP has the wrong title information? I doubt they are "linking to the wrong content". I think it is an issue with the content they are choosing to display in the SERP. Have you tried changing your title tags and resubmitting via WMT?

    Best,

    Shawn

Well your right, the article there choosing to show is always the wrong content. Like If I have manchester vs chelsea recap, its redirecting it to Manchester vs Barcelona recap article...

And yes I have tried adding the date to the titles and re-submitting, still waiting on seeing if that fixes it.
