Google says that "Page is not mobile friendly" but it also labels my page as mobile friendly

I kept trying to index one of my articles for 5 days now but Google seems to be against me.

Until today I wasn't sure what was causing it. I've sent 100+ social signals to it, I've created backlinks for that particular page and nothing seemed to work.

One quick check in the GSC and I find this:

While the mobile-friendly test shows me this:

    Text too small to read:

It's impossible for the text to be too small to read, I've checked everything and the text on the page has the same size as my other articles which are indexed.

    Clickable elements too close together:

It's impossible, each clickable element on the page is one+ scrolls away from each other.

The problem seems to not be design-wise as the page is fully mobile-friendly. I think the problem is somewhere in the code, making Google think the elements are too close or the text is too small.

Has anyone here had this problem before?

From what I could find on Google this problem was also around in 2017 when this was posted on Twitter.

    What do you suggest doing?

Hopefully I'm in the right category.

Got the same issue around a month ago, I just sent the site for validation over and over until the error got away without actually changing anything.

There could be something wrong with your site's coding. When it reports text too small, and elements are too close, when viewed on a mobile, you should thoroughly examine that using a mobile instead - Their spiders just follow a set of code and if it detects something that is amiss, then surely it is triggering those errors in the process. Otherwise, try getting those WP and mobile-optimized templates, or those paid ones - these are usually well-coded and have very few issues to begin with.
