Matt Cutts, head of the Google?s web spam fighting team, has gone on record by saying Google does not consider SEO to be spam.

Matt said outright, ?We don?t consider SEO to be spam,? and added that SEO is ?a valid way to help people find what they?re looking for via search engines.?

He did add that there are bad SEOs out there, typically known as black hat SEOs that can produce web spam. But in general, SEO is not spam and there are plenty of good SEOs out there.

Black hat? Now who would do such a thing?

mmmm... all what he basically said is that "on-page" optimization is great... nothing about "off-page"
don't beat around the bush matt!

seo is not a spam dude
spam is nothing about if u repeatedly sending or providing same kind of shit continuous or repeating things for unknown then it will be consider a spam.

seo is the only thing left for webmasters to increase there rankings in search engines.
Even search engines encourages webmaster doing seos

Actually, you are right. He purposely left out the real contentious issue.

So...
TOP white hat SEO company's paid him to make a VIDEO..Great.

Why would anyone think SEO is spam in the first place? SEO is Google's fault, right? But it's good to have someone at Google actually classify SEO as non-spam.

Matt Cutts is "Cancer Man" from the X-files. His job is 90% plausible deniability to keep reverse engineers guessing about the algorithm. He has been caught in so many cases of misinformation and half truths I don't know why anybody listens to him anymore. Let there be no doubt that if google finds out you are trying to "artificially influence rankings" in a way they don't approve of now or at any point in the future they will bring on the pain. Statements like this from Matt Cutts freak me out because it is so obviously a "half truth" I wonder what they are trying to bait SEO folk into doing now.

I just found some default stuff in this video, what do you consider to be a "half truth" there? He just described the white hat way.

There is a LOT of grey between black and white even with on page SEO... for example... blatant keyword stuffing like pinkribbonshop.com which ranks #2 for Pink Ribbon. Google has always been vocally against this SEO practice, which ethically falls within "free speech" of the website owner. Is it blackhat? Is Google supporting it now?

I think very few peoples are doing proper white hat seo. Every one or most of us want result and want more business with in short time of period then they need black hat seo,s. Who give result in a very smart way. Google can trace these all things in future but black hat SEO Expert always apply good tips and tricks in which they easily keep safe from google updates......
