Google Results different on my own PC... (even after logging out/clearing cookies!)

I know Mr Google likes to change the SERPS results and often results are slightly different when you're logged into a google account than when you aren't but even after logging out and deleting cookies my blogspot blog is still at number 4, yet on other computers it isnt even on the front page.

Is this Googles way of "making the spammers happy" so they stop spamming backlinks thinking their site has a good ranking?

That is crazy that you are having this problem. I am having the exact same problem with my sites and I thought I was the only one. I thought it might have to do with searching for the same keyword quite often.

Does anyone have any insight as to why this is and how we can fix it...or avoid it again next time?

Have you guys checked if the customizations are turned on? This has nothing to do with being signed in or not.

To check it, go to Google.com and do a search for something. When you get to the results page, look up at the top right corner of your browser window and click on "Web History".

Now you should see some links on your screen like
"Disable customizations based on search activity" (you'll see this one if they have been
    screwing with your results)
or "Enable customizations based on search activity" (you see this one if you already turned it off)

Plus some other links for Sign in or create an account.

Obviously, if you see the "Disable" message, you need to click that and turn off customizations. And every time you clear your cookies you will probably need to go through those steps to turn it off again.

One more way of the Goog making things a pain in the arse.
You wouldn't believe how this change has screwed with the heads of a lot of my people who click through to snoop on their competitors sites from the SERPS. Suddenly their competitors sites seem to be ranking much better than their site and then they start complaining.

I wish they would stop screwing with peoples results like this.

in my experience, i just click the google in english button to get the right results (it's at the lower right portion). im from another country and that's making my pages rank well whenever i'm checking google from my country's google browser.

    hope that helps ;)

Yep, if you saw a link that said "Disable customizations based on search activity" then you were definitely getting customized (altered) results
so things should start looking differently now.

For future reference, you should check that setting after every time you clear your cookies as it may have turned back on (since the customized results is the default for people not signed in).

    Glad I could help.

I have the same probleme and i find a solution:

In fact, google have many servers and your position in the serps can be different because you're connected on differents google's server (hard to explain in english)
