Google releases schema.org

    Hi BHW,

    I've lurked for a while, but I've had nothing really smart to share so far. Today I saw this and people aren't talking about it yet:

    ...I can't post links yet. There's an announcement on the googleblog blogspot, and schemadotorg has the details.

    Probably a lot of opportunity here in the short term. Also, thanks to everyone at BHW for all the great information that's shared. It's kind of funny, but this is actually one of the friendliest places on the internet (though no tolerance for BS).

    You can label certain kinds of content - ex, "recipe", "creativework", "music", etc, that hones searches. There will probably be some sort of standard/automated/best practices eventually, but in the short term smart SEO with use of schema might let you jump ahead on certain kinds of searches. Seems like there's a lot of short/mid term opportunity with it.

    I read it. I have like 200k pages. That is like a lot of work to shema them all.
    It looks like it is already a lot of work to mark up one single page.
