    Hey Guys,

I've like 5 MNS sites, and all of them were bringing together 400-500 visitors daily.
But since 2-3 days back suddenly, all of my sites have dropped rankings (-100,-200 and even -300) and are getting only 80-100 visitors. From a month or more, I haven't touched my sites (no posts, links, etc)

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks.

You could have answered this question yourself by browsing the forum for a few seconds. In fact, I'm willing to be you found the answer already while waiting for responses here.

Google released an update targeting EMD domains. Everyone feels like the update was much more than EMD since many people are getting hit right now.

a lot of sites are penalized with update on 29 sept mostly are EMD and get effected because of low quality stuff.

I have a local business that I optimize 50 or so EMD sites for (unique content, individual SEO campaigns). This strategy has been GOLDEN for the last 3 yrs, but even with a decent amount of SEO I have been watching those bleed.

The strategy is still a good one, just need A LOT more work to make it a good one... like a blog on each site, unique content of course.

too much work if you ask me - I'd rather make millions on real estate with no money down and no experience, lol.

the key is to build "brands" for each site, which is gonna be tough. Don't just make your websites for Google. Build them for readers. Build your email lists. Build them into an asset.

Start by focusing on those sites that WORK.

I think google messed this one up. I have an EMD site, but at the time when i bought it, it was just the service I really wanted to provide, then I moved sideways teaching my readers a bit about everything in my industry, in all this I did not do many links as I was caught up in building a very good informational website. My average users would spend at least 3 - 5 minutes on the site visit min 3 pages, and my bounce rate was just above the 50s. I was ranking #1 with many diverse keywords. My site was being naturally linked.
After the update 70% of my traffic disappeared. now the average user on site is 5 - 7 minutes and visits 5 pages, bounce rate about 40%.
As you can see from these numbers I did put a lot of time in building a quality site with over 100 pages of unique content, and G penalized me just because my url is an EMD. of which i did not optimize, or very minimal... well G.. u got it wrong again!!!

I have adsense on the EMD. I believe I must have been penalized on the combination, EMD adsense and exact match anchor (As it is my domain), I presume we all have the same scenario. I was thinking to remove adsense, let google go earn it's revenue off someone else. Maybe start looking into advertising exchanges... I bought over 120 domains since.. and a lot of them are EMDs with adsense.....

does anybody know of an alternative to adsense? or any idea on how to recover. Do you all have adsense on your emd's?

I used to post original content every second day, now I post once a week, as I have got busier and it is an educational site on a specific topic, so there are a limited amount of things I can teach.... but once a week.
