*** SORRY IN ADVANCE - Formatting will NOT save from preview to posting (can a mod please revert to correct formatting? I've tried all morning but it just will not format properly! Sorry!!! ***Hi guys,So ive had declining first page rankings for about 2 years. I used to rank 1-3 for my "money terms", but over the past year and a half these have dropped to sit anywhere between 10-7 on average.Ive been working to try and reclaim the rankings but ultimately its almost like im keepings things at float. I've never had a penalty, or been slapped by google. I think its just a case of me not investing as much time as needs to be for an increasing competitive market.Anyway, over night, 3 of my main money terms have dropped from 10/9/8 to 80 (and the 8th page) of Google. This is because google is showing the wrong result in the SERP.Here is a hypothetical example of my situationDog Grooming TipsDogGrooming TipsDog Grooming TipDog Grooming TipsAre my money wordsall ranking for animalgroomingtips.comHowever 3 of these terms are now ranking for other pages:2 are ranking for /page1 and 1 term is ranking for /page2These pages are worthless. I set them up when the site was first created but they receive no visits and serve no real purpose. Upon seeing my rankings tanked this morning (thanks to my rank tracker) i've immediately deleted these 2 pages on site. Should i now redirect them to the homepage also?Im wondering; Why would google all of a sudden rank these urls over the homepage (which is also my money page)I deleted them maybe 25 minutes ago and im noticing some of the rankings return to page 1 on certain browsers, but not others. I've also tried a difference machine, and depending on the browser, its either showing or not showing. What else can i / should i do in this situation?

Interested in hearing some speculations too. Have my main page disapeared from google on some money site, leaving only subpage ranking.

Sounds like quite the unpleasant stuff. If the results were "fixed" for some browsers and machines, it's probably likely that the same will happen to the rest in a bit of time as the changes propagate.

Any suggestions on what I could do?For mobile, rankins are so far unaffected. Ive checked on mobile across safari and chrome, on 3 different devices (incognito on chrome) and all 4 terms are showing page 1.Ive deleted the 2 pages that were ranking, and redirected these to the homepage. On desktop 2 of my rankings are on page 1 again (prior to the redirects) and ive just implemented the redirects so hopefully the keywords return for these also.Anything else i could be/ should be doing?

google does this kinda weird shit, nothing to be scared. It take its time and gets back to what it was before. About the ranking drop tryna add some social signals, if it is a post/article your trying to rank add some relevant comments on it.

I submitted those url again to google and the links came where it were earlier on page 2.

Hell yes, I would redirect those pages ASAP assuming they are relevant in some way to your home page. They obviously have some power.

Take a few minutes to set up a few 301 redirects in your .htaccess file buddy

Next time copy and paste your post into Notepad and then copy and paste here and that should get rid of crap formatting.

Re the issue, yes 301 those pages to your homepage.
