    Hi,

I am wondering what your experience here is:

If you have a 'brand new' domain + website, and the only page the website has currently is a quality review inner page.

Now this page has better content then all your competitors (= also review pages) that already rank for keyword X on the 1st page of Google. Also taking into fact that each of those competitors who rank for keyword X have 0 back links pointing to their review!

    My questions are:

1.) I am able to outrank them with a brand new domain website, which has only one review page at the moment, and 0 back links, BUT has much better content than my competitors on the 1st page for keyword X?

2.) If NO, building several back links will do the job in my case?

    Thanks,
    Toy

It's highly unlikely you'll outrank them with a single article anytime soon. Even if your content is better quality, it's on a fresh domain with 0 backlinks. From my personal experience, it takes atleast a few months to hit the first three pages unless your niche is extremely soft.

You mentioned that your competitors have 0 links on the inner review article. However, you don't mention their domain backlinks. These will play a part in the ranking. The age of their site is another factor.

As for your second question, in theory, yes. If you build good backlinks you will rank better and faster. Poor links can have the opposite effect.

The best advice I can give you is be patient and be consistent. Read these forums and avoid purchasing links even if they claim to be the "google hacker GOLD rank king' links you see in many marketplaces.

    Thanks for your reply!

I found a good article about this: https://ahrefs.com/blog/how-long-does-it-take-to-rank/
    It all makes sense.

BUT on the other hand if pages rank on the 1st page for certain keywords and have let see good overall domain back links, website itself is already aged, BUT the page we talking about has not so great content, it still is a bit weird that Google prefers those pages over a fantastic quality content page though the site is brand new, since the visitor is looking for great content and that is what Google wants to offer as well!

Yes you can outrank them but with 0 backlinks, no SMO strategy, it will be very hard to succeed...

You must be sure that your in-site optim is ok : is your website mobile ready ? Fast loading ? Meta tags, etc.

And yes aged website will ever get better ranking than new ones, so be patient.
