So Im trying to see how many backlinks my site has.

    Im trying Link:xxxx

And google is returning 0 results.

My sites are still young 3 months old but nothing is coming up in the big G..so what is going on ?

I am ranked in the top 10 for certain keywords as well.

Did google not pick up these links or maybe they dont respect my links ?

Hi, not all links will be acknowledged in the early days. links can take up to three months to show up and even then, yahoo might show them but G may not and vise versa.

You want a google webmaster tools account, yahoo site explorer and also try backlinkwatch :) good luck

OP: Google won't tell you all of the links it sees. If you want a free tool, I think Yahoo Site Explorer is a better choice (although it isn't perfect either). Traffic Travis or Market Samurai may be worth investing in if you are really concerned about your BL.

    Good luck

I use Site Explorer for checking backlinks. Google just seems too picky.
