    Hey,

    So I got hit by the new Google algorithm, I guess I'll have to eat it. Now I'm thinking about how to move on though... I spent quite a lot of time on the articles and it really started climbing well in the ranks before it got hit.

    I have tried re-submitting all article links over a week ago now, but they state "indexed" however, doesn't show when searching site:xxxxx.com.

    No manual strikes show up either, so I have no idea what's wrong but something is...

    To my question;
    Should I buy a new domain and move the site?

    Google discontinued the site operator several years ago.

    Trying searching for the HTML page title plus some text in the page itself.

    Its most likely that your site hasn't been "hit" but re-evaluated to be less high quality than others. Does it have a good link profile, and what are the user interaction metrics like bounce and exit rate like? Does it load fast, and is it mobile optimised?

    There is a good chance you'll be able to recover it if you work out what might be the problem.

    It has an "eh" link profile, I bought it when it expired and it was previously some sort of digital agency, same niche somewhat. But all links are those "built by xxx.com"

    86% bounce rate, 40s avg. time spent. Very bad, but this is because some people keep clicking those "built by xxx.com" links for some reason...

    Load is under 2s and very mobile optimized.

    Yeah, I've tried searching HTML page title + some text in the page, no results... Before, it showed all articles + excess pages when I searched site:xxx.com but now only 4 pages show up...

    I have no idea what's wrong to be honest, perhaps I should try re-publishing all articles before abandoning the site completely.

    You don't need to republish articles. If they are visible via a browser now, in theory Google should be able to visit them and assess them.

    I was talking about the site's backlink profile (who links to it) rather than who it links to. If there are "built by xxx.com" links on it, I'd remove those. They could be a signal of a low quality site.

    If you want to PM me the domain name (don't publish it on this thread), I'll have a quick look and make some suggestions. But it will be tomorrow that I do this.
