Google is including an ad blocker because many are using Ad-Block, Ublock, or UBlock Origin. With the exception of Ublock Origin all the other ad blockers allow payment to be allow ads to presented to the user through the ad blocker unless the user specifically configures the ad blocker that no adsare acceptable ads. Google will not allow blocking of acceptable ads through the Google ad blocker. Ads are a large vector of drive by malware. Googleas ad blocker would reduce the risk of this malware vector. And on the same hand would guarantee that Google ads are seen, and any ads that pay Google a fee for allowing those ads.

The Google ad blocker is nothing more than a means to increase income, both by allowing Google ads that may be blocked by other ad blockers, and by requiring a fee to show ads in Chrome.

My recommendation is to use UBlock Origin which blocks all ads and does not accept payment to allow ads through the blocker.

They are going to block 99% Ad networks and they will allow only ads from Google Adsense.

    Well played Google $$$.

Well Google is making the right move by making other ad blocker redundant so that they are never held hostage for displaying ads.
