So I setup my Google Places account, got the postcard from Google and verified the listing several weeks ago, but in the SERPs it still doesn't link to my website URL, no red dot on the map etc....any idea what I might be doing wrong guys? PM me if you want the URL to check...

keep in mind google will be checking your ip have you been doing several searches with the google keyword tool, best if you do the phone verification, also check that you are not using the same ip wile using the different google accounts.

Ps reason I say that is that google will ban you ip and one of the reason why you information is not showing.

Well my listing appears owner verified after I entered the PIN on the postcard, so I don't think it's a ban from Google....the website URL even shows correctly in the Google Places page, it just doesn't display in the SERPs as a local listing, just a normal website......I tried to submit a support ticket to Google but who knows if they got it....very strange..

What industry are you in? I know this can sometimes be a factor in having Google Places listings show up.

I think they're more trouble than they're worth. I know it's
free and looks like a great idea in one way cause they're big and they
have the juice but their control is smothering and nothing seems to work
out the way its supposed to and their customer service is just a big forum of
other frustrated google users. Forget about gray hat nevermind black imo.

One is in the dentist niche the others an escort agency site...google said it would take a few weeks to propagate but it's taking longer than that now...will follow up with them and keep you guys posted, looks like I'm not the only one with this issue...

Presently, Google place listing not update frequently, I think you wait some more time, if you not getting results then go to Google helpline or forum and send full details about listing.
