So I think I have mastered ranking on GP at this moment and I was really going to get into this business, but I read that if you are not local it's really hard to get a lead through email. So my question is, is it worth it going on GP offline business through email or I should look into something else?

Create a website for your business. Focus it purely on google places and nothing else. Rank said website for google places related searches for areas where people are searching for services to come in.
Leads will follow. A lot of people do cold calling and the like, but it seems not too many think about SEO when this forum is basically all about SEO. It works. Good luck.
