Hey i was just wondering when i find a google place listing lets say for a dentist that is number 1 or 2 spot in the listings, but the page is not claimed by the owner yet, how would i approach them to get a sale for me to be the one to set up and maintain there google listing since their already in the top 7, would i even go after them or just stick to the people who are not listed at all?

Hey, you should first explain to him the dangers of not claiming their places page. Anyone can go in and change his infomation and lower or even get him banned from
the maps. Next, you need to explain to him that the 7 spot is a long term approach the competition will only get tougher. I'd show him a picture of the map and explain that each red dot represents somebody who wants his spot. Explain that G wants to
see an optimized listing and continual growth in citations and reviews. Bottom line
congradulate him on a good steady practice or else he wouldn't be where he is on the map without a clue. He needs a proffesional to keep him on top and to further
expand his lead leaving his competion in the dirt. P.S. Their are many generic keywords that pull-up local maps. For dentists I've found 105 generic terms e.g. dentistry, dental, dentist office, ect...... I know he can't possibly rank for all of them.

You could also give him some competetive research on the dentists above him = tell him their video count, image upload count, direct google review count, citation link review count, citation sources (aka relevant business directories for his category - dentist directories not just and directory that will have him). Then do competetive research on the dentists seeking to unseat him. Finally, tell him staying in top ranks is like housekeeping and he should out-task that to someone who both likes to do it and does it well.
    Good Luck.

Do you HAVE to take to the potential client in person to do this or would e-mail be fine? I hate talking to people.
