Is any familiar if G has changed their verification for new places listings from mail or phone to mail only option. Im no longer being offered the option to verify a new listing by phone.

completely remove your listing and start over... you should find it will offer you the phone option again... if it doesnt than the process has definitely changed in the past 7 days...

Considering that you said "...for new places listings..." I would first check the following:

1-Has the phone number been used for a different listing?
2-Have you cleared "properly" all cookies from ALL browsers you normally use for creating the listings?
3-Have you tried to submit the listing from a different IP address? preferably, different computer as well (ex. coffeehouse)?

When you say "properly", is there more then simply "clear recent history" then "everything" in firefox.

I meant using some external assistance such as "cc cleaner." I am not saying this the best or the only tool for such procedure.

But it's a free tool and a very efficient one:
    Code:
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
I learned about it here in the forum and it has served me well.

    I don't trust the browsers' internal "cleaners/erasers."

good has indeed changed a few things recently, including numbers it could be something temporary of permenantly , google tends to do this when they see many places being added to there maps because of people like you and me.
