    hi
I have added my business to yellowpages, insiderpages, citysearch, yelp, but after a few weeks of doing this, I still do not have citations in my google places. What do I have to do to get them to credit me with these citations?

another question. if I write my business name, address, and phone number on a bunch of blogs, will that help me in terms of citations?

google citations take between 1-3 months to get picked up by google. Just keep getting more and don't get desperate, you will get them. Where ever your business info appears just like it does in your google places page, google will count it as a citation. example:

    Business Name
123 main st Miami, FL 00000
    (123) 345-1234

I held a lot of 3,7 and 10 pack slots in places until around November last year then Google penalized my account.
Had to make a new account and start from scratch, it takes time for G to trust the site again and to start ranking it, although mine does rank for a couple of (for me) less important kw. Also it has only so far picked up a third of the actual citations that I have.

Just have to give it time, the new format means that if you are ranking page 1 on organic then as google ranks the on page SEO highly it should do the same for places. You will just have to give it time.

If you have a little think about it you can exploit this..... ;)
