As many of you would know Google Panda 3.3 has already arrived!

    Here is the story:
    Code:
    http://searchengineland.com/google-confirms-panda-update-link-evaluation-local-search-rankings-113078
Google says it?s getting rid of a link evaluation signal that it?s been using for years. This one?s sure to prompt discussion:

Link evaluation. We often use characteristics of links to help us figure out the topic of a linked page. We have changed the way in which we evaluate links; in particular, we are turning off a method of link analysis that we used for several years. We often rearchitect or turn off parts of our scoring in order to keep our system maintainable, clean and understandable.

So what do you guys think, the blog post submission and high pr homepage backlinks which were working really great lately will be hit by this update?

I was very skeptical about the new panda, but today a site of mine went from number 2 to number 11 for its main KW. Fortunately, the main kw is only 30% of the traffic. Google fucked up again - the site that replaced me has SPUN CONTENT. In the even occurs that you might have been wondering yourself about... :D

It's like the cat-and-mouse game. Each time google change something, we react and find a way to win

I've been going over some searches now (some I don't compete in) and it's clear that shittier sites are on the front page. However, they do all seem to be using adsense. Don't focus on giving users quality content, focus on having more people click your ads. If this is really the case, this might be the mistake that kills google and makes bing have the 50% market share :p Let's hope so. Fuckers

I said this years ago and I'll say it again:

Eventually Google is going to make the TOP 30 in the search results for any keyword linking to ONLY corporations.

The average marketer is going to become obsolete in the near future.

For now, link diversity is going to be the next biggest indicator along with anchor text variations for ranking on the first page.

I'm happy I went with link diversity from the very beginning, most of my sites have been positivly affected by Panda. And I totally agree with bobby, that might even happen much sooner than most might think.

I don't think it would be corporations, but the days when the health website, created by the kid working at the grocery store across the street outranks the site of a medical doctor with 50 years of experience just because the kid has more web 2.0s properties linking to it will very soon be over :)

    Not that much.

I believe they're devaluing off exact match anchor text, though that'd be stupid.

One of my websites jumping from 10->24->12->25(today) for the past 4 days for one of it's long tail keywords which contains the main keyword. The main keyword is stable.

Could I see your website and the spun content website please? I'll evaluate the backlinks and try and figure out what the exact cause is.

Now that explains my sudden jump in Adsense revenues. After Panda two, it fell to a trickle, but it recovered all of a sudden mid February.
Of course, I do not have the time and energy to invest in unethical link-building practices, and I see how shallow they are in the long run.

Well a least absolete with SEO based traffic. But there are so many other traffic sources and methods.

But I have a bad feeling with the "refresh" improvements that they also added in this update and g+ is not a good thing for seos .The top 10 results are just gonna change with a such high frequency that SEO might be a useless activity at some point.. If they cant catch latest and greatest link networks they can always turn SERPS into a twitter feed. IF they wanted to go real ballistic that way they could kill almost entire SEO industry and scared business would turn into adwords.... Lot's of money for them in that tactic and I am afraid we are going to see it too in action but I hope not.....

Because it's better. But they'll never do it because it's not financially beneficial to them.

Google's method of displaying search results is flawed. When they first devised it it was revolutionary. But the likes of us on here have been able to manipulate the results very easily. And we can still do it whatever panda update is thrown at us.

If you tell everyone that a site is ranked according to the number of sites that link to it you are asking for trouble. They've created a whole industry devoted to manipulating the results.

Google's results pages do not provide the best sites or the most relevant results for the majority of cases. I find the ads they display provide better results. Those companies have to pay to be seen because they can't get listed on the organic results either because of a lack of knowledge on how to get there or funds to pay someone to do it.

Or maybe Google do this on purpose?

I've got shitty little MNS sites ranking above the manufacturer! That's how shite Google is. And this is happening all over their results. Sure they are trying to deal with this and many have been hit recently, but there's still plenty do just fine.

I also sell a product sold by a multi chain high street department store here in the UK. I sell 20k of the product a year, they sell 1 million+ in their shops. I read they have millions of keywords in Adwords. For this product they do not appear in the first 5 pages of G's results. I'm number 2. It's scandalous this company can not get premium products showing on the organic results.

It's in G's interest to keep me number 2 and them off the front. I spend $0 a month on Adwords, they spend $10k+ a month.

We all know what happens to organizations that start putting profits before user experience :):) As to + and social media, this is not applicable to serious and profitable niches. Only to sites about cat pictures or stupid videos that get +'d and liked.

hopefully by that time two good things will happen.
    1. Bing chips away at more Giggles marketshare and gets 50% or more of searches
    2. A New search engine emerges
