As I do research I always divide the traffic number by half, do I need to estimate that much, or is the tool really that accurate? What percentage do you guys take of that number displayed on the keyword tool? What other tools do you guys also use to compare with Google?

Usually when you own the first position for any keyword you can expect about 45%
of that traffic. Assuming you have the first position.

So in my experience just chop the number google gives you in half

    The tool is pretty crap,

My advice pull the top 20 keywords, then put them into 4 groups on Google Insights for search then pull the top 5 from that and target those.

    Keyword tool data sucks

Personally I live by Market Samurai. The numbers have been pretty accurate and I have been able to totally dominate several niche markets thanks solely to that tool alone.
