    Hi,

I am looking for a tool so I can see how many people from a certain city are searching for keywords. This is for Google places keyword research. Is there anything out there to do this?

I know you can see in Google insights but the metrics are normalized so I can't get the numbers from there.

Any suggestions / tools would be very helpful as I am pretty stuck now...

There's at least 2 ways to do keyword research for Google Places:

    1. Using Google Adwords tool to find search volume for various combinations of city + keyword. Although it's free, it will only be an estimate.

    2. Run a short PPC campaign. Upside is you will get accurate data. Downside is it will cost $$$.

For each keyword phrase, you'll also need to check the competition in Google Places. There's a few tools that can do this, e.g. GP Scraper, Mappi, etc. But, if you're on a budget, just do it manually.

    Good luck.

Have you tried Google Trends? I know that's not 100% what you're looking for, but that could be of some help!!
