(The ending ?page=full seems to break the first link for me, but works fine without.)

From the sound of things as long as you aren't trying to pull off anything fishy, you'll be fine. Not that I'd ever try to pull a fast one on the mighty Evil Empire of G, but guess this just reinforced that mindset.

If you are wondering about whether you will be banned or not think through how Matt Cutts would react if he knew the full scope of what you do: how you get your traffic, what you promise on your landing page, how that matches with your ad copy, etc.

Google does not like Made For AdSense sites and will ban accounts simply for that. If the landing page feels extra-spammy I'd say your account is at risk.

Seems like the people who were making money setting up and selling fake E*N accounts will be able to switch over and make money setting up and selling fake AdSense advertizer accounts.

This is why it is better (in my opinion) for affiliates to learn seo and target the ultra low competition keywords with content rich sites.

The bans are for advertisers pushing "scammy products" like acai, teeth whitening, etc.

Absolutely! Content, content, content. Did I mention how important content is to Google? And don't forget about the content :)

Yeah, I have been thinking the same thing. Probably just going to get rid of the small time players and keep the corporate scammers.

Hahaha, its cause they make you pay for shipping and handling

----got your credit info right there

And than when you don't cancel in 30 days it hits reoccuring billing! BANG

and since people are dumb, they dont check there credit reports, get hit 12 times for 89.99 and than finally realize it when there is a pending charge on a cc that they are closing..

do i have experience with reoccuring billing!? it is the best thing in the world!!!

I am sorry for some of the people, but really, its always in the fine print.

Yea this is old. The banned a few of my "grey" sites. Did not close down the adwords account but blocked the domain name. Change the domain name and they blocked the new domain name 1 week later.

SEO and other form of advertising is looking like the only options we will have due to big brother google beating us down.

    Your argument makes no sense!

Show me in the fine print where it says that the company will wait till the day before the trial ends to ship the product or where they will bill you for 1-2 years worth of rebills in a single charge or that they make it impossible to cancel the subscription.

I got an idea, sign up for an acai berry trial and tell me how your experience is. I used to push these products too until someone I knew placed an order and I saw first hand what she went through.

I moved away from advertising on Google a while ago. I am even starting to move away from Bing and Yahoo. What I find is that buying media on websites, if done properly, is sometimes a lot more effective in terms of ROI.

Not a bad idea as such, since people will move away from online buying if they find they are being taken for a ride repeatedly. Only way to retain online buyers is to regulate the fraudulent ads but that is easier said than done. It would be interesting to see if this is a passing phase or Google is indeed serious about this effort.

Here is what I was talking about...

This is from one of my sites TOS exactly...minus the name...:

    Trial Membership

"User understands that the $29.99 monthly fee to access the data on wwwXXXXXXXXXcom will start if User does not cancel during the 3 days or 72 hour trial period. User also understands that after the expiration of the trial period, User may continue to access wwwXXXXXXXXXcom's database as long as Users account is current. User also agrees to pay the monthly charge and will be automatically billed to the credit card listed given to wwwXXXXXXXXXcom until User decides to cancel. User may use the trial period for one time only. User agrees that it will not falsely or fraudulently attempt to reverse or charge back any credit card or ACH payment insofar as it is impossible absent direct third-party fraud to sign up and enroll for the wwwXXXXXXXXXcom subscription service without a valid credit card or bank ABA routing number or account number in hand and such personal information as is required to validate the use of the same."

That is what these people are going through, they are entering their info and not cancelling, I don't know anything about billing 1-2 years a head of time but I do know that it is a business practice to ship as late as you can in order to delay costs etc.

yeah i absolutely hate regulation and "cracking down", but people seriously need to consider the big picture. Every time someone gets completely ripped off with these rebill offers, they become that much more wary of buying into any sort of hype whatsoever
