I'm sorry I do not quite believe what FTC has to say on this, perhaps its time to Google this and get more information.

I have to agree. I doubt this will go anywhere. Google is doing an obscene amount of lobbying. If something does happen, it will be a small fine like last time, which was $22.5 million. It's a lot of money, but not for a multi-billion dollar company.

The FTC is idiotic. There is a reason Google is able to do what it is able to do.

You do realize that it didn't get where it is today by simply being in on the SE game early. There were big search engines while Google was still the little fish in the big pond. However, the executive team was smart about adjusting the business model, and they are where they are because they were smart and built a more user-friendly search engine than Yahoo, MSN, AskJeeves, DogPile, etc.

The European Commission might give them a harder slap. If all failed, then the future of the internet is uncertainty.

Not news. They will pay a fine and move on. That's a drop in the bucket for Google.

Unfortunately, if it amounts to anything, that is exactly what will happen. They will pay a small fine, which will be merely a tax right off for them and continue their agenda.

$50 million? For a company that makes $38+ billion, that is nothing.

That is enough to cripple them permanently.

Their insurance wouldn't even go up for 50m.. and even if it did happen to hurt them at all, They would just fire a few employees to make up with wages.

This isn't a valid charge. Most of those companies are not competitors that the FTC would be concerned about. They are businesses that have lost rankings. Either way, nothing will be done about it under this administration.

It can be true, especially for huge brand companies, which pay G for manual ranking administration.
