I gave access to the guy (I called the google helpline) a couple of weeks ago so he could fix a problem in my (new) account & forgot to deny access after he was done. Two weeks later, yesterday he accesses my account with no prior permission other than that he had and changes my manual bidding to auto and lowers my max CPC by 80%!!!!

Good thing I caught it around mid day today, my add was at the bottom of the page! Checked my account and scratched my head :dunno: long and hard as to how that had happened.

Changed it back, got back up to my desired position and started hunting for the culprit.

I took his account off mine and I have his email address but I don't know what to do as I don't want to awaken the :google2: giant.

Have you guys had any experience like this and what did you do?

Never heard of this, u sure it was a "google employee"? Anyway, as you removed his access now, I won't bother with it anymore.

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. Where did you meet this Google employee, or how did he present himself to you that gave you the impression he worked for Google?

I had one guy try and present himself to me as being from the "Google Ranking Department" trying to sell me an Adwords package...

It's all down to how they word it, as long they don't mention the actual company they work for most people on the high street would take this as being from Google and they wouldn't actually breaking any laws.

Lol I called the helpline under configuration tab. I guess my competition didn't like it and called in with a complaint as they are long time adwords customers.

There is a thing called MCC account for agencies and google employee, if you are starting new with adwords their support offers setting and managing your campaign, so you might have accepted that offer that is why he has the ability to change the bid and do other settings in your campaign , But anyways you should now revoke and terminate the access so that he dont fiddle with your campaign.

Does his email looked like %username%@google.com? If not, I think it wasn't google employee.

These people act on behalf of google and take adwords access, and say 14 days free support and later on mess with the accounts. These people are dumb if we ask any questions.

This is unbelievable. Would google really run up the chance of running their reputation by messing with individual accounts though? I mean they make billions...
