Hey everyone, I was building hundreds of links, blasting it with senuke, scrapbebox, press release so in the begining of this week my site was gone and now it came back, but came back with the same ranking and as I check my backlinks with traffic travis half of the links are gone and not counted by google, I had almost a 1k and now it only shows 300? WTF? Any ideas? Thank you!

give it time, google is slowest of them all to rank a site, it usually takes 1-3 months for a site to reach a stable position

and if you didnt do so hot of a job making the links (bad comments, look spammy, etc) your links might have been moderated

I dunno if you checked it with and without the "www" in your URL, but that will matter also how many links are shown.

He's saying that the number of backlinks that will be shown is different if you put the www in front of your url than if you don't.

...rforster is correct, check that first. google has also been throwing out a lot of links since the May Day update and I have seen odd ups and downs in my link counts over the last month or two far more than normal - and given your methods it's certainly a possibility.

First of all, have a quick look at this link (Google Webmastertools, that will clarify the "http://www" or just "http://" question:

    Code:
    http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=44231
If you have builded half of your links with "http://www.***" and the other half of your links with "http://***", then google could ignore one of the URL´s since they consider it to be another URL.

Next question would be, if you tried to get your backlinks indexed? Otherwise google might never ever find some of these links... They sometimes need a little help... :D
