A month ago my website was at #15 position. I build backlinks month ago and from this time on most important keywords is very frustrating google dance. One day #60, then N/A, then #15, few days N/A... The website is ~6 months old. The weird thing is that not every keyword is dancing - a few which I am monitoring are on a stable position between 8-10. The ones which have google dance have the most search volume per month and on them, I am focusing. What to do to stable this position? Is it a weird google penalty? Should I create new backlinks or wait another weeks?

Same thing happened to me when I added a homepage link of a 120RD PBN - It's been dancing for over a month. Leave it and stop changing things and see how it plays out

What sort of links were they and did you drip feed them?

    Google dance is normal.

You can't maintain your Google position as a stable so you have to build more quality backlinks for your website.

This is just G split testing your site.

Just wait, it can take up to 3 months. Start other projects in the mean time.

You only need one winner ;)

I would leave things as they are and focus upon other keywords too. Things should stablilize.

This is normal. As others have said, wait 2-3 months. For my sites.this used to scare me but now I judge the strength of links based on how much it causes a page to dance. Google likes to F with you so just be patient.

It was mostly web 2.0s and a few profiles, I drip feed them a little.

It stopped and my rankings got higher. You just have to wait and everything will be okay. I probably added too many links in short time and Google didn't know which place was the best for this site.

Let it settle down first. Google is figuring where to place your website in SERP. You dont need to do anything for now.
