This is just the typical barking from Google and Matt Cutts. This will most likely end up like their "attack" on blog comment spam and their other similar attempts.

In all honestly, whenever Google changes something, they open up a huge opportunity for those that are keeping up with Google and their changes and altering their business model to work around them.

This is because when something like this happens:

    1. A lot of webmasters will claim it's the end of this or that and give up, thus eliminating a huge chunk of the competition.

    2. The ones that were doing things incorrectly will get their sites flagged and possibly de-indexed. Then most of these people will give up as well which is another chunk of competition that will be erased.

Google is always focusing on having the best quality search results. That's they maintain their ranking as the top search engine. They are always talking about and introducing new ways to "fight" BH methods.

If you pay attention to them and what they are doing, it makes your job a lot easier, and you will be prepared. This gives you an edge above everyone else, and will allow to keep gaming Google without too many hassles.

If we pay close to the exact match domains matter, you will see that Google actually is not the one to blame for it.
Yahoo! relies way more on exact match domains than anyone else. And when the website has the proper optimized title tags,
it does give a boost in the rankings even without a decent number of links.

Huge Tip! Don't listen to what anyone says, find out for yourself! I spent a good portion of my life listening to what other had to say and it prevented me from taking action cuzz i thought nothing worked.

Do yourself a favor and make it happen, don't watch (or read) the news. I'm not talkin to anyone specifically... i'm jus sayin...

This is very true. Google does not reveal their algorithm. It's an evolving black box, so you have to continually test it.

Google caffeine is the most exploitable update since about 2000. No wonder they making all this racket about spam! They have been forced to make the caffeine update because of the rise of the social networks. Now that they realize it is so exploitable, they have to "be seen" to be doing something about it. I am with Yukinari on this one. Storm in a tea cup!

Well the only thing Matt Cutts announced actually is that they will get a harder fight against "duplicated content". In his interview (was posted somewhere, cnet i think) he says that they're facing a problem of having a same article on few pages from a SAME website. They're a bit behind with that. Spam comments are devaluated a long time ago. Mostly when they don't contain the keyword from the article with keyword density 2%+ (maybe 1.5 not sure, 2 works even with auto approve).

Matt Cutts tries to fight bulk websites building as that's still where big money goes, no matter what other people say. With the TheBestspinner API this is becoming a very easy thing to do (with wp robot) and a few tools of controlling 50+ wp blogs at once. Their main concern is on page now, since they've left it behind when everyone was using blogs and profiels for direct backlinks.

Just my few cents from my research so far.
