    Hey,

Ok so i start to be a news reporter from Google (i really should open a SEO blog WTH for you guys click on my ads :D)

But as i'm loving u too much here is the new :

Every ones now that your backlinks has to be relevant but what about outbound links ?

The quality team from google has collaborated with the search team for once and seemed to have got along about the impact of outbound links from your website to another.

Here what has been told in a live chat :

"don't bother using [rel=nofollow] on internal links, even on [links to] the copyright and privacy policy. But feel free to use it on external links that you don't necessarily trust. Because where you link to can affect your reputation as a website".

So pay attention to your outbound links, especially when you do link exchange, outbound link aimed at an authority website should be done each time from now on.

    +1 button

I personally think that is a shitty failed feature, that the king try to make us adopt by force.

But Matt Cuts from google during the livechat intend to say that this button WILL impact SEO and google is going to pay attention to it.
(clickjack spotted for sure on all my websites)

Question is : Is it for now ? Doesn't seem so but, let's put aside what we all think about this button, and implement it the sooner the better.

    How do you react ?

If you find the thread useful, don't hesitate to thank or give rep or i'll just open a private blog just for myself :DD.

I have no idea if it will or not affect SEO, but take anything from an employee who receives a check from big g with a grain of salt.

It's always interesting to see how their algorithms develop. I might run some 'control' tests when I get the time.

Yeah you probably right, but this loosy button has to be used for something.

We know that G like social networks, why would he hate his own network ?

G doesn't hate it's own networks, it's just that everyone else does lol.
I'd say there's at least a 65% chance that this will go the way of Google Wave and Knoll etc (straight down the toilet), but in the short term they'll give it massive weight to force people to use it.

HERES the ironic part though: It's going to fail because they give it massive weight!
Noone but Blackhat SEOers are going to use it, which means that googles search results are going to get as bad as they were a few months back, and people will start complaining. Cutts will throw his toys out of the pram and pretend it never existed, and we'll all take it off our sites again :D

Whatever Cutt says, do the opposite and you will see the coin. Follow him and you will become another digitalpointer.

personally I don't have any doubt about +1 affecting rankings. Yes it will - it's their button and they want to promote it and who better to promote it with than among SEOs and SEMs.

But the thing that interests me is what you said about the outbound links policy and this: "don't bother using [rel=nofollow] on internal links..."

Matt Cutts posted this once in a Google webmaster thread:

"What are some appropriate ways to use the nofollow tag? One good example is the home page of expedia.com. If you visit that page, you?ll see that the ?Sign in? link is nofollow?ed. That?s a great use of the tag: Googlebot isn?t going to know how to sign into expedia.com, so why waste that PageRank on a page that wouldn?t benefit users or convert any new visitors? Likewise, the ?My itineraries? link on expedia.com is nofollow?ed as well. That?s another page that wouldn?t really convert well or have any use except for signed in users, so the nofollow on Expedia?s home page means that Google won?t crawl those specific links.
Most webmasters don?t need to worry about sculpting the flow of PageRank on their site, but if you want to try advanced things with nofollow to send less PageRank to copyright pages, terms of service, privacy pages, etc., that?s your call."

Stupid +1, trying to compete with FB, and FORCING people to use it in order to rank. What a joke.
