hey folks

i got a fresh site up and running (less than a month old) and I was doing awesome ranking with fiverr gigs. within a week I was at #5 for my main keyword. but i think i overdid it on the fiverr gigs because now when I go to:

http://www.searchenginegenie.com/google-banned-site-checker.php

and it says 'Google Blocked the IP Temporarily '. I have noticed this for almost a week now. I have canceled two of my gigs that I were pending. Does anyone know how long it will take to get unblocked? Should I call my host and tell them to change my IP addresses or should I wait it out? I have a team of writers but I feel like there is no point posting up frequently until Google unblocks me. After all, they don't work for free but if I don't have that many people coming in (max 800 in a day) then why waste money and push out content?

Any advice would be appreciated.

lol I get that too

I think google banned their IP temporarily, I'm getting the same message even for cnn.com....

@ Crackaway, the script they are using to do that check on that site is FLAWED!

If you randomly put in a dozen sites you know are not deindexed, its going to spit out reports of them being deindexed anyway.

For example, that site is saying that the IP for the NYPost.com site is temporarily banned, LOL. Oh, really!

The bottom line, don't trust that site to run such a check.

Use site:yourdomain.com

the site used to work before and gives exact result but now it is not working even i get the google banned message , ? you could use other similar site to check your SERPS and or do it manually

OP an unrelated question

Since you are ranking your site post penguin
what is the keyword density of your site and what is the backlink method you have used

that only proves that my site is not deindexed. i checked and it is indexed. maybe that site isn't reliable but what could explain me suddenly losing all my rankings? its just odd. is there any other way to find out if my IP has been blocked by Google?

Don't use that website. It's terrible. That message comes up all the time.

It may be a dance, but you've more than likely lost all of your ranking for BH activities.. = penalty.

Nothing to worry about. The site that is checking the SERPs for you has THEIR IP banned from checking SERPS; most likely because everyone is doing it from there, and so google puts a timeout on their IP address.

Try rankingcheck com

Check to see if your website is deindexed. site:www.doamin.com

If it's listed, your ip is not banned. I got a bad batch of ips one time, and all websites on that ip were deindexed. So, I changed ips, and was back to normal. Took me 10mins to fix.

Google very RARELY bans ips. They ban domains.

You already confirmed that your site is indexed. Consequently, you need to drop the whole ideology about your IP being banned. IP bans are temporary measures to thwart BOTs from parsing/spamming the Google servers beyond typical human usage.

Your drop in traffic could be related to any number of things. Do you monitor your keyword rankings and backlinks and that of your competitors?

of course! i check my keywords daily, if not 2-3 times a day. I was ranking #5 for one of my keywords and a couple other keywords at like #37 and lower. But a few days ago I checked my rankings and all were gone except one keyword. A few hours later it was completely gone, all of them. my competitors are still ranking for the keywords just fine but i have outranked them on a couple keywords. I have been pinging my backlinks but i dont have all the links for the backlink. the reason is that the fiverr gigs i bought don't always provide the backlinks. i only use gigs that have been discussed on BHW and i saw awesome results. i was doing a backlinking service like every few days. plus, i was doing the same thing for a site of mine that is about a year old and its still ranking fine. i doubt its the gigs but it's something else. very strange.

P.S.- I'm pretty sure I never said banned. I said blocked. Not sure if there is a difference but I am sure I am not banned.

That site you are using to check the IP ban is seriously flawed. Every working site I put there is showing me the same message as well.

As someone already mentioned, G won't ban your IP temporarily unless there's too many requests from your IP within a short time. If G has to ban your site or deindex it for that matter, it'll just simply do that to your domain name.

So stop going to that site anymore. Whatever you are experiencing, it's not the IP ban.

I don't know guys. I think that site was pretty accurate for me. Yesterday night it no longer said 'google blocked the IP temporarily' and today i am back at #7!! sure a little lower, but much better! i never said it said the site was banned. yes that link took you to the 'check if you're banned' section but it never once said it was banned. the exact wording was 'google blocked the ip temporarily'. and yesterday night when i checked it said, 'your site is not banned by google' or something along those lines. i know it was inaccurate for many sites but it was definitely accurate for me. now i am back and ranking at #7 for one of my main keywords and still ranking for 2 additional keywords!

Did you check Google to make sure that your keywords were ranked where this site said they were ranked? That site had me number one for the keyword jewelry once and gave me a heart attack. Suffice to say, I was not ranked number one for the word jewelry. I can promise you that the site is glitchy and the blocked ip message happens to everyone. If you want to use a free site, use seoserp.com

Google has gone south... it's trying it's best to removed bad sites by attacking all, SMH makes no sense...

I never used that site to check my keyword ranking. I use the program called Rank Tracker. That's the only piece of software that is accurate for me. I checked it myself and yes I was ranking for my keywords.

Hey Crackaway,

Did you ever figure out what the deal was with this whole thing? I've actually had the exact same thing happen to a site of mine. It was ranked #13 for a keyword, then all of a sudden it isn't ranked at all anymore. But the site is still indexed.

Can you (or anyone else) give me any advice on things to try to get the site ranked again for my keywords?

Thanks man!

I don't know that its a problem from the IP banning. Cause usually you can face this type of problems for different reasons. I think the best decision is to stop Off page for a few weeks then start it again.

Even if you enter google.com or yahoo.com the result you will get from searchenginegenie will be like [h=2]Google Blocked the IP Temporarily[/h]
