Google had earlier hinted that it will be monitoring the Play Store closely, especially for keeping a check on privacy policy adherence by apps,

Over the last 24 hours, Google has been sending notices to developers worldwide stating its intention to “limit visibility” or remove apps from the Play Store that violate the company’s USER DATA POLICY For most devs, the violation seems to be a simple one: lack of a privacy policy

Google’s plan to take action on offending apps stands to affect millions of so-called “zombie apps” littering the Play Store. Others won’t have the motivation or the know-how to create the privacy policy — especially for poor performers — and could see their app removed as part of a purge that’s undoubtedly coming.

One of the major shortcomings on Play Store is the presence of so many apps, which make it tough for users to find accurately what they are looking for on the platform. This new move will delete junk apps from the Play Store and strengthen keyword search for official apps. Google’s cleansing drive will be a strong move to ensure the adherence of user privacy policy

I hope all "app stores" are gone soon. Software should be distributable anywhere, not under the censorship of apple or google or microsoft.

google use bots to check apps, so after a while, they found their PlayStore full of bots , junks and spammy apps, hope they will follow Apple and leave that process to an agent to decide if an App is good to be published or not

sucks for the hustlers, but personally Im glad. You download the wrong app and your stuff gets tons of ad pop ups. People need to learn how to not over do it and be smarter about how they do their ads. Otherwise it is quite annoying for most people.
