I was looking at the Google analytics program and it looks like new way for google to control the web. You put the code in your site and they give you all this nifty data. I assume this will also allow them to find out more about you and who you are, what you are, and based on their data they decide where you rank. With this and Chrome don't they pretty well know what every website and every surfer on the net is doing? I guess they will plant a chip in our head but oly so that they can give me better SERPs.

    dude can you relax
how does google control the web with analytics..lol. its just some code that monitors your traffic flow. ultimately its still your site.
sure google may use some of the information about your site to gather data about your site but who cares. google knowing your site better will probably work in your benefit if your site is decent quality.

ur onto something. I put together a simple 3 product review site, clickbank products. I targeted a long tail keyword, used it as my domain.

carefully spammed backlinks, within a week was on the 4th page for my term and one above ehow on 1st page for a relevant term. then installed Google Analytics and fuck me, my site is nowhere. coincidance?

I have had the same experiences with analytics. I don't use it anymore.

I think there was a study done in regards to bounce rates with google analytics and without. Seeing if you went up and down the serps.

    Cant remember the link sorry.

Interesting.. I've always used GA with my sites, perhaps that's the reason why they never rank so well.. or it's because I'm lazy and don't promote them enough.. 1 of the 2 :)
