Yah...I read somewhere (can't remember where) on another site that said you should never but google analytics on your site because it gives google access to your site so they can check out what you are doing and ban you if you are (in their mind) doing anything wrong.

you should never use google analytics. i have had very bad experiences with it. after added it into my site, adsense revenue was dropped 50%. a week after moved it, adsense revenue came back to normal like before. figure it out by yourself.

I wouldn't dare Google Analytics on any site. I personally use statcounter.com. Next you should know never to use the adsense widget in the blogger dash board, always input adsense code in the HTML widget. Or else your profits will drop.

    Code:
    http://www.socialseo.com/big-ol-list-of-the-best-website-analytics-and-web-stat-tools.html
Check here for a list of alternatives.(not my site)

Why does that piss you off? It's made by Google, so you should know that they are going to be giving your site a thorough look over.

I use Analytics on some of my WH sites and it's great. But never on anything BH or even close to it.

It's like giving Google a window inside your entire operation where they can see everything.

Any of Google code in your site is "Google trojan". Analytics, AdSense and others. Also Google Toolbar, Desktop, Gmail... ;) I hate this.

Using Google Analytics are positive sides, which I tested. You can install Analytics and get your site indexed without any backlinks. Google know what pages are accessed, so it index them. Just use script to randomly refresh your subpages (if you want, I can describe how exactly I'm doing this). When your page is indexed, you can delete Analytics.

Google moderators are manually viewing pages in Analytics (and AdSense).

Oh jeez, never realised how bad it could be to use Google Analytics. I have been using GA for all my BH sites. Time to change this.

bcz google can figure out whether the pages that you rank in google (obviously they receive traffic from google) are relevant with the keywords that those pages ranked based on bounce rate. thus, google does not provide relevant ads.

and know what, some pages in my site lost its rank for many keywords after using analytics after certain period of time.:chairshot

take it down guys. google's products = trojan.

that's weird. i have never had any of my WH sites lose ranking from using GA. In fact, it's actually easier to make them gain rank and target my audience more effectively since I know where and what type of traffic I'm getting.

the main keyword has no problem. but the long tail keywords that i rank for my pages (5 >). the longer the keyword, the content should be more specific. hence, when the bounce rates are high for certain keywords, you'll not rank anymore for those keywords bcz google understands your pages are not relevant/not satisfying searchers.

google's main goal is to deliver the best information for given query. it just makes sense why they will let people use their powerful tracking software. to get rid of unrelevant pages from their serps.

all of my authority sites use WH techniques.

oh, it'll not happen in a short time frame. i used analytics for 2 months.

As long is your content is good and is relevant, than you should be fine. That's how I operate my WH sites and have never seen a problem yet. I have been using GA since it was launched.
